What we check before replacing a cylinder
Current uniSTOR ranges include capacities suited to domestic properties and slimline options where cupboard width matters. Compatibility with the connected heat source and the existing controls should be checked before replacement.
Direct-electric hot water
Where a cylinder uses immersion heaters for primary hot-water production, we test the supply and controls as well as the element. If a boost immersion works but overnight heating does not, the off-peak circuit, switching or lower immersion may be the real fault.
Unvented-cylinder safety
Unvented systems contain safety devices and a discharge path that must remain effective. We do not bypass safety controls to keep a system running. Any active discharge, overheating concern or electrical damage is treated as a diagnostic issue rather than a reset-only job.

Vaillant uniSTOR standard and slimline choices
Vaillant's uniSTOR range includes standard and slimline unvented cylinders, with pre-plumbed options in parts of the range. Capacities span typical domestic applications, so there is usually a choice between conserving cupboard width and maximising storage volume.
uniSTOR cylinders are designed to work with boiler and heat-pump systems depending on model. The coil and control arrangement therefore needs to match the connected heat source; a boiler cylinder and a heat-pump cylinder are not automatically interchangeable.
Retrofit checks
When replacing an older cylinder, we review mains pressure/flow, heat source, available space, discharge route and any immersion backup before selecting the uniSTOR variant.
