Electric boiler repair & fault finding

Electric boiler faults are often electrical, hydraulic and control-related at the same time. We test the supply, controls and heating system methodically before deciding whether a part, wiring repair or boiler replacement is actually needed.

Common reasons customers call

Boiler powers up but does not heat

Noisy operation or repeated lockout

What we check before recommending parts

Electric heating faults can be upstream of the appliance. We test in a logical order and keep repair versus replacement as a decision made after evidence, not before.

Supply voltage and protective devices
Isolation, terminals and signs of heat damage
Heating demand and external controls
Pump operation and circulation
Pressure sensor, temperature sensors and safety cut-outs
Heating elements and insulation condition where appropriate

Important: boiler kW output and cable/protective-device requirements must be based on the actual installation and current manufacturer instructions. We do not size high-load electric boilers from bedroom count alone.

Why flats and London properties are a strong fit

Electric boilers are frequently considered where there is no individual gas connection, a flue route is impractical, the plant space is compact or a landlord wants an all-electric refurbishment. The trade-off is electrical demand, so the incoming supply and hot-water expectations must be checked early.

Berkshire and London coverage

We cover Reading, Maidenhead, Windsor, Slough, Bracknell, Wokingham and surrounding Berkshire areas, plus planned visits in West and Central London including Ealing, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Richmond and Kingston.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair all electric boiler brands?

We work across the major UK electric-boiler ranges and will confirm parts/support availability for the exact model before recommending repair.

Is an electric boiler repair an electrician job or heating job?

It can be both. The fault may be in the electrical supply, controls, pump, pressure side, sensors or boiler components, so combined electrical and heating knowledge is useful.

Should I photograph the error code?

Yes. Send a clear photo of the display, model label and nearby controls by WhatsApp before the visit if possible.

Do you replace the boiler if parts are unavailable?

Only after the system has been diagnosed. If a safe, sensible repair is not practical, we can quote a correctly sized replacement.

Do you cover London?

Yes, particularly West and Central London flats and apartments, subject to travel and access.
