Electric boiler repair or replacement?
The appliance and system checks that should come before deciding to replace an electric boiler.
Start with a diagnosis, not an assumption
No heat can result from a control signal, sensor, circulation pump, protective device, electrical supply or boiler component. The displayed error and operating symptoms narrow the search, but measurements are needed before parts are ordered.
When repair may be sensible
Repair is often worth considering when the fault is isolated, parts are available and the boiler is otherwise suitable for the property. The wider system should also be checked for circulation or control problems that may have contributed to the failure.
When replacement deserves consideration
Replacement may be more practical when parts are obsolete, faults are repeated, repair cost is disproportionate or the existing boiler is incorrectly sized. A quotation should state the electrical-supply requirements, controls and commissioning work—not just the boiler price.

Safety note
Do not remove electrical covers or work on fixed wiring unless you are competent to isolate the circuit and prove it dead. If a breaker or RCD trips again, leave the affected circuit switched off and arrange testing.
