What the survey needs to establish
We assess the rooms being heated, hot-water demand, existing radiators and pipework, controls and electrical supply. Photographs help with an initial discussion, but the final boiler size and circuit design require checks of the actual property.
What to look for in your quotation
The written scope should identify the boiler, controls, electrical work, plumbing alterations, removal arrangements and commissioning. Any required supply upgrade or additional work should be identified before installation is agreed.
Running costs matter as well as installation cost
An electric boiler uses electricity to heat water for the system. Your bill depends on the property heat loss, tariff, hours of use and hot-water demand. A smaller purchase price alone does not establish that a boiler will be cheaper to run than your current heating.

Can any home have an electric boiler?

Do I need a new electrical supply?
It depends on the proposed boiler load and the capacity already available. We check the incoming supply, consumer unit, earthing and proposed circuit before confirming the installation.
