Restore your hot water

Immersion heater & hot water repair

A cold cylinder does not always mean a failed element. We check the supply, controls, thermostat and element insulation resistance to pinpoint the failure.

Restore hot water with targeted immersion fault finding

Element, thermostat or supply?

A cylinder that stays cold may have a failed element, thermostat, timer, switch or circuit. We establish where the fault lies before recommending an element replacement. Tell us whether overnight heating and daytime boost behave differently.

Can the element be replaced?

Access, element type and cylinder condition affect the work. A seized fitting or deteriorated cylinder may make removal more involved. We explain any concerns before attempting replacement and quote for the appropriate scope.

What to send

Send photographs of the cylinder label, visible controls and immersion switches without removing covers. Include when the water last heated normally, whether anything trips and whether a leak is visible.

Common questions

Useful answers

How quickly can an immersion heater be repaired?

Common faults can often be diagnosed in one visit. Completion depends on safe access, cylinder condition and availability of the correct element.

Why is my immersion tripping?

A deteriorated element can leak current to earth, but the cable, switch and thermostat also need checking before replacement.
