Electric boiler or storage heaters: which system suits the property?
A practical comparison of wet central heating and room-by-room electric storage heating.
The systems distribute heat differently
An electric boiler heats water for radiators or underfloor heating, so it relies on pipework, circulation and central controls. Storage heaters charge thermal material, usually during an off-peak period, and release heat in each room without a wet heating circuit.
Compare the property, not just the appliance
The sensible choice depends on the existing installation, heat loss, tariff, occupancy pattern, hot-water system and electrical capacity. Retaining usable infrastructure may be more practical than changing the whole property to a different system.

Assessment avoids a costly assumption
Neither system is automatically best for every home. A survey should establish how much heat is needed, what equipment already works and how the household uses heating and hot water before a conversion is recommended.
Safety note
Do not remove electrical covers or work on fixed wiring unless you are competent to isolate the circuit and prove it dead. If a breaker or RCD trips again, leave the affected circuit switched off and arrange testing.
