What affects electric boiler installation cost?
The appliance, electrical supply, controls and heating-system work that should be clear in a proper quotation.
There is no useful one-price answer
A straight appliance replacement and a conversion from another fuel are different projects. The correct cost depends on the boiler output, existing radiator and pipework condition, hot-water arrangement, controls, cable route and capacity available at the property.
What a complete quotation should cover
A quotation should make the scope easy to compare. It should identify what is being retained, what will be replaced and whether any electrical or hydraulic work is conditional on further testing.
- Boiler make, model and output
- Dedicated circuit and protective-device work
- Controls, valves, pumps and wiring
- Pipework alterations and system preparation
- Testing, commissioning and handover
- Removal of replaced equipment where agreed
Why the lowest appliance price can mislead
The boiler is only one part of the installation. A unit that is too large for the available electrical capacity or too small for the calculated heat demand is poor value even if its purchase price is attractive. Assessment before specification helps avoid expensive changes later.
Safety note
Do not remove electrical covers or work on fixed wiring unless you are competent to isolate the circuit and prove it dead. If a breaker or RCD trips again, leave the affected circuit switched off and arrange testing.
